MOLINS PAPERERS DE CATALUNYA
El passat dissabte 28 de juny, i dins del marc dels actes de la diada de Sant Pere, es va dur a terme la presentació del llibre “Els Molins Paperers de Catalunya” a les Escoles Velles de Sant Pere de Riudebitlles. L’acte va ser molt emotiu, tant per la categoria humana dels autors, en Martí Ribas i en Josep Esteve, els dos exalcaldes de Sant Pere i persones estimades al municipi, com pel tema en si, els molins paperers de Catalunya, un tema molt lligat a la trajectoria industrial d’un poble com Sant Pere, que ha basat la seva economia des de l’edat mitjana fins els nostres dies en la producció de paper enmig del mar de vinyes que caracteritza el paisatge del Penedès. Uns molins paperers que són una senya d’identitat no tant sols de Sant Pere sino de la resta de pobles de la Conca del Riudebitlles, i que marca fortament la fesomia i la personalitat d’aquesta part de la nostra comarca on l’abundància d’aigua i el seu aprofitament des de temps llunyans han marcat la manera de viure d’aquestes contrades. L’acte va ser presidit per l’alcalde, Sr Joan Martí, qui el va obrir, i al que van seguir els parlaments del director del Museu de la Ciència de Catalunya, Sr Eduard Casanellas, i la directora del Museu Molí Paperer de Capellades, Sra Victòria Rabal, impulsors d’aquest projecte. Tancant l’acte van parlar els dos autors, on de manera espontània i directa van agraïr tant a les entitats allà representades com l’un a l’altre, l’haver facilitat la producció d’aquesta obra, un recull descriptiu dels molins paperers, que en paraules del Sr Casanellas, formen part d’una tradició fabril catalana que ens diferencia de la resta de territoris que ens envolten des de fa molt de temps.
